Sophie Mitchell, Untitled I

Mitchell’s work attempts to draw attention to things often overlooked. This is further supported by the use of colour in her work; by the reduction of colour the viewer can become aware of the work through peripheral vision. A form of looking that can prompt curiosity and intrigue. The removal of strong colour from a work can also prompt an awareness of the use of materials and their origins.
